Melissa is an experienced attorney whose goal is to convey excellent legal advice, produce top-notch work products, and communicate thoroughly and often to keep her clients informed. Within her estate planning practice, she prepares Wills, Powers of Attorney, Advance Medical Directives (healthcare powers of attorney and living wills), and Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts. An animal lover herself, one of her passions in this area is Estate Planning for Pets, wherein she works with clients to help ensure their pets are provided for in the event the client can no longer care for the pet. Additionally, she holds Wills for Heroes events throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia in coordination with the Virginia State Bar and Virginia Bar Association. During these events, estate planning packages are prepared for first responders (law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians) and their spouses pro bono in appreciation for all they do for our communities.
